PARENTING

Life Can be Simple Or It Can Be Complicated

It is frequently a combination of the two. With our guidance and representation, you can expect fewer surprises and an easier transition through periods of transition. After a divorce, determining a child’s primary residence and general care can be difficult. In addition to the logistical challenges of transitions and journeys between residences, there may be disagreements regarding the appropriate amount of time for kids to spend with each parent. Outside of the courtroom, we hope to make agreements. We can also help you with alternative conflict resolution processes, such as mediation and family dispute resolution, or “FDR.” When a settlement cannot be reached, we can help with the Family Court procedure.

Our expertise can help you with:

  • Day-to-day care and contact agreements contained in a Parenting Plan, as well as guardianship issues. The law focuses on creating arrangements that are in the best interests of a child. We can talk about how those plans might work for you and your kids.
  • Additional guardianship is required when other family members, such as step-parents or grandparents, must be more closely engaged in the care of children.
